The Chairperson of the Cameroon Human Rights Commission (CHRC), Pr. James Mouangue Kobila, was invited by the German Embassy in Cameroon to join in a working lunch held at the residence of the German Mission.
This occasion was particularly remarkable as it included the presentation of the German Africa Prize 2023, which was bestowed upon the 1st National Women’s Convention for Peace in Cameroon. The Convention was represented by two esteemed leaders, namely Mrs Esther Omam from Reach Out and Mrs Marthe Wandou from ALDEPA.
Among those invited by the German Ambassador, Dr Corinna FRICKE, distinguished guests present included the Ambassador and Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Cameroon, Mr Jean-Marc CHATAIGNIER, the First Counsellor at the French Embassy in Cameroon, Mr Fabien LALITTE, the Director of the Goethe Institute, Madame Thekla Worch-Ambara, and a delegate from the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
A noteworthy fact is that the CHRC has consistently advocated for peace in Cameroon, with a specific focus on the three regions affected by terrorism. Additionally, the promotion and protection of women's rights remain key priorities for the Cameroon Human Rights Commission.
